New Member – Welcome to Donovan Patrick Kelly, who joined the friends website and has responded to my e-mail. Don’s a professor in the Dept of Biological Sciences at the University of Warwick. He responded from his office e-mail and promised to get in touch on his return form the Easter Vacs. I’ve sent him the spreadsheets for him to peruse on his return. I have his e-mail address if anyone wants to contact him direct.
Website – Arley wants your “then and now photos” for a meet the members section – perhaps a spot the geriatric competition! I’ve bitten the bullet and sent him mine to set an example of how such a good-looking 12 year old can turn into a cantankerous old git in 50 years. The school has mentioned our website in the Spring edition of the Old Gravesendian newsletter, and if anyone wants to go on the mailing list for this publication, contact Sharon Bolton on 01474 331893.
Mini-Reunion – Only two responses have been received re venue for a mini-reunion lunch on Saturday 29th June, at a hostelry in the Gravesend area. These are the Woodlands Hotel in Wrotham Road, or the Darnley Arms in Cobham, where they could possibly provide a separate room off the main bar. Would those planning to attend, please let me know and let me have your preference as to venue.
Sportsman’s Reunion Ball – On May 18th there will be a celebration of over a century of sport at GGSFB. This is open to all old boys and their partners plus teachers past and present. It’s a black tie affair and tickets are £25 a head. There’ll be a jazz band, casino, buffet, buicking bronco, two professional acts, a magician, and a disco.
